Wedding favour cards and gift tags: a few personal words

Sometimes the detail that stays with us is a phrase in small print. A favour card connects a gift to a person and a day. It does not need to be long to feel personal.

Begin with who is celebrating and when

For a wedding, you can include the couple’s names and date; for baptism or communion, the name of the person celebrating and the occasion. Adding each guest’s name is a separate choice for individually named gifts. Do not confuse it with the celebrant’s name or assume it is included in personalisation.

A message that sounds like you

Keep to the essential details or add a thank-you, such as “Thank you for sharing our day” or “A little keepsake, with all our love”. These are ideas to adapt, not compulsory wording. On a small card, fewer words give the design room and make it easier to read.

An enclosed card or an outside tag?

Picture the result with the packaging. An enclosed card adds a quiet personal note, while an outside tag also becomes part of the design. Size, material, printing and symbols depend on the options offered; not every item supports every choice.

Check before you confirm

Read the names, accents, date and message exactly as you want them supplied. Check whether the card is included, whether there is an additional charge and how to provide your text. Ask whether a proof for approval is offered rather than assuming it is automatic. Clear information helps turn a few words into a thoughtful keepsake.
